GROUP ACTING CLASS

At the United Conservatory of Music and Arts (UCMA), we believe in nurturing young talent and fostering artistic expression. Our Group Acting Classes are the perfect stage for young actors aged 8-12 and 13-17 to embark on a captivating journey into the world of acting. Whether you're a budding performer or a seasoned actor, UCMA offers an array of opportunities to explore, learn, and grow.

Acting Foundations (Ages 8-12)

This course is a perfect place for younger actors to take their first foray into stagecraft in a supportive group setting. Acting Foundations teaches the skills needed to understand character backstories, speak confidently on stage, express a wide range of emotions through your body, and explore a variety of scenes and mask work. Students perform twice a year at recitals in small group scenes and short one-act plays.

Actor’s Workshop (Ages 13-17)

With a focus on working through more complex, teenager-appropriate theater, Actor’s Workshop is a place to dig deeply into diverse texts. The workshop format focuses on learning through the study of monologues, group scenes, and short plays, and centers performance as a medium of expression. Students perform more extended scenes twice a year.
