Terms And Conditions

1. Tuition

All payments are processed automatically on the 1st of the month. Lessons occur once a week at the same time and day. View our website for our current rates.

Tuition is the same amount every month and is not adjusted for missed lessons. Once you select a lesson time, we reserve that teacher's time every week for you. Your tuition rate will remain the same regardless of the number of lessons you are scheduled to receive that month. Monthly tuition is based on a 48 week year and has already been prorated to reflect the 4 weeks a year we are closed for holidays. In certain months you will get 5 lessons, in certain months you will get 3 lessons, and in most months you will get 4 lessons, but the charge is the same.

There is a $30 annual membership fee per student applied to your first month's tuition for new and returning students. Tuition is subject to an annual increase.

2. Cancellations & Make-Up Lessons

For your convenience, please use the UCMA client portal to cancel lessons you are unable to attend. UCMA will provide a private or group makeup class credit based on what your account is eligible for. Students are allotted 2 private makeup credits per 90 days. Makeup credits must be used within 30 days of issue date. To be eligible for a private makeup credit, lessons must be canceled through your portal at least 24 hours prior to the scheduled lesson time. Private makeup credits may be used to self schedule makeup lessons. Students may schedule makeup lessons with any instructor available. Students who have exhausted the allotted private makeup credits are eligible for group makeup credits. Group make up credits are unlimited and never expire.

Group makeup classes are 60 minutes long, divided by instrument/level, and sign ups are on a first come first-served basis.

When a teacher is unavailable for any reason, the school will provide a guest teacher for your lesson. In the event a guest teacher is unavailable, the lesson will be rescheduled or issued a private makeup credit. If you choose to decline the guest teacher, you will be issued a group makeup lesson credit.

3. Discontinuing Lessons

To discontinue lessons, you must fill out a withdrawal form by the 15th of your last month. Students will be responsible for their last month's tuition whether or not they attend lessons and the last month's tuition will not be prorated for any lessons you do not attend. No refunds will be issued. Only the Director may consider requests for release from this contract in the event of extenuating circumstances. Withdrawal forms received after the 15th will be processed for the following month and payment will be charged.

4. Late Policy

Students who arrive late to their lessons are allotted the remaining time. Instructors are unable to extend the lesson to compensate for the missed time. If you are going to be late to your lesson, please notify the office so they can advise the instructor. Students who arrive more than 15 minutes late to a 30 minute lesson may not be able to progress during the lesson. Your instructor will provide a review and practice information for that week. If you would like to switch to a zoom lesson due to time constricts, please notify the office and we will be happy to accommodate you.

5. Summer/Vacation Dates

The school operates year round and does not close for the Summer. We are happy to offer unlimited group make-up classes that are held every weekend.
