Norene Foin

Voice and Piano Instructor, Contemporary Music Director at Hope Lutheran Church


Norene began her private study of the piano at age seven.  At age 10, she was recognized as the youngest organist in the country with her position as organist for Sunday services for a church in Madera, California.  At age 13, she was the accompanist for the choir at Thomas Jefferson Junior High School, and continued on for the next four years while a student at Madera High School as the accompanist for the Acappella choir. In high school, she received the highest rating possible - Command Performance - for her vocal performance at the solo festival held at California State University, Fresno.

While earning a business degree from Fresno State, she continued her music education by enrolling in vocal classes with very highly respected instructors in the area - Dorothy Renzi, David Sarkisian, and Dean Rhodus.  She continued her private piano study with Phillip Lorenz, a professor from Fresno State.  She also studied voice with Charlotte Black at Carnegie Mellon University in Pennsylvania.

Norene began performing professionally at age 16 by providing vocal, piano and organ music for weddings and special occasion events. She has been a pianist for both auditions and rehearsals for Good Company Players at Roger Rocka’s Music Hall in Fresno, California.  She has served as director for the Musical Theatre summer camp program for Vibe Performing Arts Studio in Santa Clarita and Sing Out Loud, a Vocal Performance summer camp with West Valley Music Center in West Hills.  She has been a solo performer as well as a keyboardist and vocalist in various groups over the years, performing at several Fresno and Los Angeles area venues.  She has helped couples plan their wedding music for over 25 years, has been a church organist, church choir accompanist, praise team pianist and vocalist for 3 different San Joaquin valley churches over the last 15 years and with Valencia Christian Center in 2008 and Northpointe Community Church in 2017, a choir accompanist for Clovis Unified and Fresno Unified School Districts and Kingsburg High School, and most recently (2006 – 2012) served as Music Specialist for Las Virgenes Unified School District as Director of the Choir Music Program for Bay Laurel Elementary School in Calabasas. Norene began teaching private piano and voice lessons and performance coaching seventeen years ago when she founded Tyler Noren Music Studio in Fresno. In September 2004 she relocated to Los Angeles and continued teaching music until the close of her studio in July of 2015, when she returned to Fresno.
